Treo - Corrosion testing & salt fog testing
We will examine how susceptible your material or the anti-corrosion coating of your product is to aggressive atmospheres.
An examination of the resistance against corrosion by means of salt fog or salt spray testing is particularly suitable, if your product is being used on the open sea or in close vicinity to the ocean.
If your equipment is subjected to a corrosive atmosphere in the course of normal aircraft operations, or to a severe salt atmosphere, the normal and severe Salt Fog Test (RTCA DO 160) is also respectively applicable to examine the behavior of your material under accelerated corrosive atmospheres.
Salt fog testing is also being applied in the automotive industry and has become part of the standard testing procedures, based on the material specification.
With our corrosion test chambers we are able to carry out for you neutral salt spray tests with NaCl (e.g. DIN EN ISO 9227 NSS testing) as well as acetic acid salt spray tests (AASS testing) and copper accelerated acetic acid salt spray tests (CASS testing).
A variation of the test salt is also possible which enables us to carry out special requirements like tests according to Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
Moreover, we examine the performance of your material under cyclic corrosive conditions and condensing water atmospheres (e.g. DIN EN ISO 6270-2), and explore the protective ability of your coating by introducing and evaluating artificial defects (e.g. DIN EN ISO 17872).
