Treo - Flame retardant tests
In the inside of electronic devices defective components can overheat and, in worst case, ignite non flame-retardant material in the immediate surrounding. For the evaluation of the fire hazard we use the needle flame test, simulating the effect of small flames on the sample material.
If there are no corresponding certificates for the enclosure material, the needle flame test is required by shipbuilding classification societies for design type approvals of electronic devices with plastic housing.
Treos fire laboratory is equipped with flexible testing appliances in order to be able to test smaller components and material samples as well as bigger housings conforming to standards. Treo tests are accredited by DAkkS and certified by DNV GL. Benefit from our opportunities of approval tests or development accompanying engineering tests. We offer further fire protection classification on request.
