Corrosion testing & salt fog testing
We test how vulnerable products and materials are to aggressive atmospheres. An examination of the resistance against corrosion by means of salt mist tests or salt spray tests is particularly suitable if your product is being used on the open sea or in its immediate vicinity.
The salt mist test is also employed in the automotive and aviation industries as an accelerated aging test and is part of the standard test scope.
With our corrosion test chambers, we can carry out both neutral salt spray tests with NaCl (for example DIN EN ISO 9227 NSS test) and acetic-acid salt spray tests (AASS test).
It is also possible to vary the test salt, so that special requirements can be accommodated as well.

The evaluation process may include a visual inspection (DIN EN ISO 4628-2, etc.). Treo offers the following additional evaluation methods specifically for coatings, paints and varnishes: application of scratches (DIN EN ISO 2409) or other methods according to customer requirements.
