From 3 to 6 September, the maritime industry will get together at the sector’s biggest event. The ‘SMM - the leading international maritime trade fair’ is the leading showcase for products and developments in the marine engineering sector. Treo will also be there to welcome visitors at the company’s stand.
The maritime industry looks to the future
Für The world’s largest maritime trade fair is a ‘must’ for Treo. Managing director Hanno Frömming and sales manager Lars Meyer have been showcasing the testing laboratory’s expert services at the fair in the Hamburg Exhibition Center for many years. “Treo is a testing laboratory with extensive experience and expertise in the maritime sector and of course we want to share our expertise with trade visitors in a personal meeting”, says Hanno Frömming.
Around 14,000 participants from over 120 countries are expected to attend SMM 2024. More than 2,000 companies will be showcasing the latest trends and innovations in the maritime industry in twelve halls covering 90,000 square metres. Under the motto “SMM –driving the maritime transition”, the 31st SMM will focus specifically on the maritime energy transition and digital transformation. The event also features conferences and discussion forums, which are open to everyone.
Treo is one of the few laboratories in Germany that is authorised to carry out the full range of tests for type approval in maritime engineering. This includes standard procedures such as vibration tests, climate tests, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electrical safety. Treo also has test rigs that can be used to carry out specific tests such as the dynamic inclination test due to wave action or compass safety distance test. We work closely with the most important classification societies to align standard-compliant testing.
The SMM fair will be open from Tuesday, 3 September to Thursday, 5 September, from 10 am to 6 pm, and on Friday, 6 September from 10 am to 4 pm. Tickets are available at the box office from €75.
