Acoustics & Noise Level Measurements
As well as environmental simulation and material tests, in our laboratories we also perform noise level measurements for signalling devices, e.g. for type tests according to IEC 60945.
Acoustic signalling devices, like those used for bridge alarms in navigation equipment on ships, must meet specific volume levels. In our environmental simulation laboratory, we can carry out measurements on signalling devices and check the volume generated by the device.
Our test experts create and carry out complete test programmes to ensure that your test devices and components meet the standards for type tests according to IEC 60945, among others.
Our range of services also includes airborne noise measurements and structure-borne noise measurements in the laboratory or directly on site.
The standards and procedures in this area include the following:
- DIN EN 60945 Acoustic noise and signals (all equipment intended for installation in wheelhouses and bridge wings
- DNV-CG-0339 Acoustic noise and alarm signal levels for equipment installed on the bridge
- MIL-STD-740-1 Airborne Sound Measurements
- MIL-STD-740-2 Structure-borne Vibratory Acceleration Measurements
