Hamburg Aviation Young Talent prize award

Achieving change in aviation requires the vision of highly skilled academics. At the Hamburg Aviation Forum, the best of the new generation of graduates were awarded the Young Talent Award – sponsored and presented by Treo managing director Hanno Frömming.

“Game Changer” was the motto of the 60th Hamburg Aviation Forum. Like the economy as a whole, the aviation industry is faced with the need for fundamental change. To shape this evolution, the sector urgently needs highly educated academics and innovative ideas. Now, three of the best young academics have been honoured with the Young Talent Award, sponsored and presented by Treo.

The award was presented in three categories at the Hamburg Aviation Forum: Best Bachelor Thesis, Best Master Thesis and the special award “Green Aviation”. The Young Talent Awards in the categories Best Bachelor and Best Master were presented personally on stage by our managing director Hanno Frömming. “This prestigious prize honours the students’ achievements and shows just how important higher education is in this field”, Frömming said. In addition to a cash prize of 1500 euros each, co-sponsored by Treo, the winners also benefit from access to the community and direct contact with key industry players. At the same time, aviation enterprises have the opportunity to build relationships with young talents. “The Hamburg Aviation Young Talent Award supports this, and that is why we support the Hamburg Aviation Young Talent Award”, says Frömming.

In addition to our MD’s congratulatory speech, Treo sales manager Lars Meyer was also involved in the award. As one of nine members, he sat on the independent jury and carefully read and evaluated the finalists’ work. “The jury was impressed by the high quality of the entries”, Meyer said. Ultimately, the best papers were judged to be that of Tim Nahuel Schulz from the University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg), the winner in the bachelor category, and Philipp Heerd from the Technical University of Braunschweig, who won the prize in the master category. The prize in the “Green Aviation” category went to Daan Hurtecant, also from HAW.
