Update 16.10.2023 - Treo honours the best Bachelor theses at the Hamburg Aviation Young Talent Award:
At the 65th Hamburg Aviation Forum, which is traditionally held at Hotel Hafen Hamburg, the prizes were presented to the winners of this year’s Hamburg Aviation Young Talent competition. Treo’s laboratory manager Dr. Till Schwermer presented the prizes for the best Bachelor’s theses of this year. First prize went to Lucia Agullo Marti for her paper “Location analysis and noise emission considerations for enabling a fleet in innovative air-based mobility”. Second prize (1.000 euros) went to Anna Vorndran (“Development of methods for conducting and evaluating laboratory experiments on PEM fuel cell stacks for aviation applications”). Lucas Beyer received third prize (500 euros) for his paper on “Validation of a phase change material heat exchanger architecture of an air-conditioned air cargo transport system”.
Treo and the Hamburg Aviation Young Talent Award are an enduring success story. For eleven years now, Treo has sponsored the competition for the best young academics in the aviation industry. This year, the graduates again presented innovative and creative ideas to make the future of aviation even safer and more environmentally conscious. This year, as well as prizes for the best Bachelor’s and Master’s theses and Sustainable Aviation, the category Sustainable Cabin was added. For the first time, the Hamburg Aviation Trainee Award 2023 was presented. The winner of this new prize was the young electronics technician Viktoria Siebert from Lufthansa Technik. Treo Head of Sales Lars Meyer, a member of the independent jury, was very impressed: “The standard displayed by the young academics in this competition is really outstanding, and it was quite a challenge to pick the winners.” The other winners were Johann Kipping (Master), Sören Wilhelm (special category Sustainable Aviation), Lara Constanze Müller (special category Sustainable Cabin).

It's that time of year again: Hamburg's university graduates are submitting their final theses for the Hamburg Aviation Young Talent Award. We at Treo are also involved and support this thrilling competition as a sponsor.
Until May 1, young academics submitted their theses dealing with aviation-related issues such as aircraft construction, cabin systems, logistics, IT, environment, electronics and communication technology. The best of them will be awarded at the Hamburg Aviation Forum in October this year.
With the Hamburg Aviation Young Talent Award, the cluster has created a competition in which dedicated students can present their ideas on the topic of aviation. This year, for the first time, there are four categories in which prizes can be won. In addition to the "Bachelor's" and "Master's" theses, prizes will also be awarded in two new categories with the topics "Sustainable Aviation" and "Sustainable Cabin". In these categories, creative and sustainable ideas are sought that make flying and the cabin in the aircraft more sustainable. The focus is on lightweight, natural materials and cradle-to-cradle approaches to production. The category "Sustainable Cabin", which was awarded in previous years as a special category of the young talents award, has thus received an "official" upgrade in the young talents competition.
The winners of the Hamburg Aviation Young Talent Award will be rewarded with prize money of 1.500 euros per category. In addition, the successful participants will be allowed to attend the Hamburg Aviation Forums in 2024 free of charge.
